The St. Joseph-Ogden High School Music Department stands on the belief that music is universal, cultural, and individual. By providing an engaging, structured, and safe environment, musical growth, creativity, and expression are encouraged from all students. The goal is to prepare students to become lifelong patrons and participants of the arts.

Ms. Jacquelyn Evers, Music Director

Ms. Evers earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009. As a student at the U of I, Ms. Evers was an active member of the Marching Illini, Symphonic Bands, and Basketball Band. She returned to the U of I last May where she is currently in pursuit of her Masters in Music Education. Before joining the St. Joseph-Ogden High School faculty, Ms. Evers worked as Grades 5-12 Music Instructor at Okaw Valley Community Unit School District. During the summer, she works as Head Librarian for the Illinois Summer Youth Music camp at University of Illinois. Ms. Evers also maintains a growing piano studio in the Champaign-Urbana area. Her professional memberships include the Illinois Music Educators Association and the National Association for Music Education.
